O artigo do FT

Fala-se por aí que o Financial Times tem um artigo sobre o uso da golden share na OPA da Telefónica à Vivo. Será este?
Mr Sócrates said the government had made clear that it considered the Spanish group’s proposal to be contrary to the best interests of Portugal Telecom.
“Telefónica was mistaken if it believed it could go ahead with the offer without taking into account the strategic interests clearly expressed by the Portuguese government,” he said.
He defended the use of preferential state rights in companies such as Portugal Telecom as “a good regulatory instrument” that could be used to limit “total economic liberalisation”.
“It is important that the general economic interests which companies like Portugal Telecom represent for countries are taken into account,” he said. It was in the strategic interests of Portugal for the group to operate on an international scale in order to advance Portuguese research, innovation and engineering.
“The ‘golden share’ is an instrument to be used rarely,” he added. “This is the first time we have used it and we did so only because Telefónica failed to take into account the Portuguese government’s position.”
